Star Wars: Kevin Feige and Patty Jenkins Movies Shelved

The Star Wars franchise has seen a number of projects fail or be shelved in recent years, but Disney+’s The Mandalorian has been a huge success. The show has helped to revive the franchise and led to the development of several live-action Star Wars series.

However, despite a number of films being in development, no new Starwars movies have been greenlit since 2019’s The Rise of Skywalker. Rogue Squadron, the one-off adventure being developed by Patty Jenkins, was expected to release in December 2023, but was pulled from the schedule in September 2022 and is reportedly no longer in active development.

Likewise, the rumored Starwars movie being produced by Marvel Studios chief Kevin Feige is also no longer in active development. Rian Johnson still wants to make his planned Starwars movies, but is currently busy with other projects, while Taika Waititi is still working on his potential Star Wars feature. Lucasfilm is committed to a Star Wars movie from director Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy, but the project is still shrouded in secrecy.

It’s possible that the studio will unveil more plans for the franchise at the Star Wars Celebration convention in London in April.
