On October 1st, Taylor Swift made her second appearance in the stands to watch Travis Kelce play, who is rumored to be her new romantic interest. Interestingly, her presence drew in an impressive average of 27 million viewers for NBC and Peacock.
The game, which was against the New York Jets, became the most-watched Sunday program since the Super Bowl, notably increasing female viewership by more than 35%. According to Nielsen, there was a 53% increase in teenage girls tuning in to Sunday Night Football compared to the previous season, all thanks to the pop star’s attendance.
This time, Swift was joined by her friends Ryan Reynolds, Blake Lively, Hugh Jackman, and Sophie Turner. The previous week, she had made her first surprise appearance at an NFL game when the Chiefs played against the Bears on Fox. Her enthusiastic cheering, captured as she exclaimed “Let’s f***ing go!” when he scored a touchdown, ignited a media frenzy, essentially confirming her connection to Kelce.
“I was on top of the world after the Super Bowl, and right now even more on top of the world, so it’s fun man,” Kelce shared speaking of the attention he’s been getting. He added, “You’ve got a lot of people that care about Taylor, for good reason. So, just gotta keep living and earning and enjoying the moments. At the end of the day, I’ve always been pretty good about compartmentalizing and being able to stay focused in this building and I’ll just keep rolling with that.”
As we approach the Week 5 game, it remains uncertain whether Taylor Swift will be present to support the Chiefs as they face the Minnesota Vikings. However, the buzz surrounding her involvement has shown no signs of diminishing.
