Leighton Meester and Robbie Amell find that the holiday season isn’t always smooth sailing in the upcoming Freevee romantic comedy, EXmas, from BuzzFeed Studios.
In the film, Amell plays Graham, who decides to surprise his family by coming home for Christmas. However, his plans take an unexpected turn when his ex-fiancée, Ali Meester, also shows up as an uninvited guest. The two former flames must now compete to win over the family and secure a spot at the Christmas Day celebrations.
Directed by Jonah Feingold and written by Dan Steele, EXmas will be available exclusively on the free streaming service Freevee in the United States, United Kingdom, Germany, and Austria. It will also be available on Prime Video in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and Sub-Saharan Africa.
In addition to Meester and Amell, the film features a talented ensemble cast, including Michael Hitchcock and Kathryn Greenwood as Graham’s parents, Dennis and Jeannie. Veronika Slowikowski portrays Graham’s sister, Mindy, while Steven Huy takes on the role of his brother, Elliott.
EXmas is a production of BuzzFeed Studios, with Richard Alan Reid, Michael Philip, and Jason Moring serving as producers. This romantic comedy follows Freevee’s first original holiday movie, Hotel for the Holidays, which stars Madelaine Petsch and Mena Massoud as the leads.
Amell is also known for his role as a series regular on the Prime Video sci-fi comedy series Upload, which will return for a third season on October 20th. Meester gained fame for portraying the cunning socialite, Blair Waldorf, on the hit TV show Gossip Girl.
EXmas is set to release on November 17.
