Matthew Vaughn On Kick-Ass Reboot and Kingsman 3

At the New York Comic Con this weekend, acclaimed director Matthew Vaughn took center stage to discuss his highly anticipated Apple TV+ spy thriller, Argylle. However, his announcement of his upcoming exciting projects, Kick-Ass and Kingsman 3, truly set us abuzz.

With Argylle set to hit theatres this coming February, Vaughn unveiled his ambitious plans for the future, confirming both a reboot of the beloved Kick-Ass franchise and the continuation of the iconic Kingsman saga.

Kick-Ass changed people’s perception of what a superhero film is. We’re doing it again,” Vaughn revealed. “None of the other characters from the other Kick-Ass are in it, though we’d like to have them back after the reboot. I can’t really talk about it, but it’s fun!”

Kingsman 3 Kick Ass reboot

In response to whether the Kingsman franchise had concluded its journey after the sequel and the prequel set during World War I, Vaughn resoundingly dispelled any such notion. His emphatic “no, no, no” was met with enthusiastic applause from the audience.

Alongside the reboot of Kick-Ass, Vaughn assured everyone that Kingsman 3 is undoubtedly a prominent item on his list of upcoming projects. “We’ve got to get on with Kingsman 3 because I was joking that Colin [Firth] is going to end up being a portrait on the side while Taron is Arthur,” Vaughn shared. “So we are working on that at the moment.”
