Will Smith will be joining Trevor Noah for an in-depth interview on Comedy Central’s The Daily Show with Trevor Noah.
It will be Smith’s first late-night interview after the incident at Oscars. He will be discussing his new film Emancipation and subsequently receiving a 10 year ban from the awards show.
Following the Oscars slap, team Smith has been working hard to promote the new film, inviting celebrities such as Tyler Perry, Kenya Barris, and Dave Chappelle to a screening of Emancipation.
Recently, when promoting the film, the actor adds in a video that, while he respects the audience’s option not to see him on screen, and that he would never urge someone to watch the film if they choose not to, his team’s hard work and the movie’s premise are worth seeing.
The majestic tale and performances in Emancipation, according to the actor, are enough to melt hearts. He claims, “The people on this team have done some of the best work of their entire careers, and my deepest hope is that my actions don’t penalize my team. At this point, that’s what I’m working for. I’m hoping that the material – the power of the film, the timeliness of the story – I’m hoping that the good that can be done would open people’s hearts at a minimum to see and recognize and support the incredible artists in and around this film.”
The Daily Show airs at 11 pm ET/PT tonight.
