‘Suits’ Claims Top Spot on Nielsen Streaming Chart for 12th Week

In a streaming sensation, the legal drama Suits has shattered records by clinching the No. 1 position on the Nielsen Streaming Top 10 for an astonishing 12th consecutive week. This achievement surpasses the previous record-holder, Ozark, and solidifies Suits as the reigning champion since Nielsen began reporting the Top 10 rankings in 2020.

This remarkable feat is shared by only 11 streaming titles that have held the top spot for five weeks or more.

According to Deadline, what sets Suits apart is its ability to secure this coveted ranking in just 12 weeks, whereas Ozark achieved its record over multiple seasons. The USA Network’s legal drama has clearly struck a chord with viewers, making it a consistent favorite in the streaming world.

Netflix’s Virgin River has also made waves, claiming the No. 2 spot on the overall chart with a staggering 1.9 billion minutes viewed during the week of September 4-10. This phenomenal performance pushed One Piece, the former No. 1 on the Streaming Originals list, down to the No. 2 position. Virgin River is proving to be a streaming powerhouse, making its mark on both the overall and original content charts.

Disney+‘s live-action adaptation of The Little Mermaid made a splash, accumulating 1.4 billion viewing minutes and securing the No. 4 spot overall and No. 1 among movies. What’s intriguing is that The Little Mermaid saw the highest level of “co-viewing” among this week’s titles, with nearly 70% of viewers enjoying it with someone else. In contrast, Virgin River had the lowest co-viewing percentage, at 34%.

Not to be outdone, the acquired title S.W.A.T. made a resurgence, streaming across Hulu, Netflix, and Paramount+. Its seventh season, recently introduced on Netflix, propelled it back into the overall Top 10, and this week’s viewership surge earned it a place in the top five.

Prime Video’s original series The Wheel of Time maintained its strong presence, registering 515 million viewing minutes after releasing another new episode and ascending to the No. 3 spot among originals.

Hulu’s original Only Murders In The Building also saw an uptick in viewership, with 470 million minutes viewed, securing the No. 5 position among original series.

The streaming landscape is continually evolving, with these top-performing titles showcasing the diversity and popularity of content across various platforms.
