Stan Announces Major Expansion of Partnership with Lionsgate

Australian-owned streaming service Stan has made a groundbreaking announcement today, revealing a significant expansion of its partnership with Hollywood giant Lionsgate.

In a new multi-year output agreement, Stan will enrich its content library with a fresh collection of first-run premium scripted dramas from STARZ and Lionsgate, as well as exclusive theatrical films tailored for Australian viewers.

The deal ensures the continuous presence of beloved Lionsgate television series and blockbuster movies on the Stan platform, further solidifying their enduring collaboration. This agreement follows Stan’s blockbuster deal with Sony Pictures Television last year, establishing its reputation for securing top-tier Hollywood content for Australian audiences.

Stan has already brought a plethora of hit series to its viewers through this partnership, including popular titles like the Power franchise, Minx, Heels, Hightown, P-Valley, BMF, and The Serpent Queen.

Additionally, this agreement brings a variety of Lionsgate series to Stan, including critically acclaimed shows like Mad Men, Weeds, The Spanish Princess, Anger Management, The Girlfriend Experience, and Black Sails. A wide catalog of blockbuster films such as La La Land, Wolf Creek, The Artist, The Blair Witch Project, and Twilight will also be available to viewers.

Expressing his excitement, Stan Chief Executive Officer Martin Kugeler stated,

“Stan’s multi-year output agreement with Lionsgate secures a suite of exciting new first-run premium dramas from a global content leader, exclusive to our Australian subscribers. Lionsgate and STARZ have produced some of the most thrilling Hollywood TV shows and movies, with Gaslit, the Power franchise, Minx, and The Serpent Queen proving very successful for our service. We can’t wait to bring these new shows to Australian audiences.”
