Sofia Vergara’s ‘Griselda’ Dominates Nielsen Streaming Charts with 1.6 Billion Minutes Watched

In a groundbreaking achievement, Sofia Vergara’s latest venture, Griselda, has claimed the top spot on Nielsen’s weekly streaming rankings for the week of Jan. 22-28. Within just four days of its Netflix debut, the series amassed a staggering 1.6 billion minutes of viewership, securing its place as the most-streamed title in the U.S.

This remarkable feat marks only the fifth occasion since October that a streaming original series has clinched the coveted No. 1 position on Nielsen’s rankings.

The previous long-standing champion, Suits, yielded its top spot after a 15-week reign when The Fall of the House of Usher made its debut. While acquired titles like Bluey and Young Sheldon have frequently dominated the chart, Griselda has emerged as a formidable force.

Following closely behind in the rankings were acquired titles, with Bluey securing the No. 2 position with 1.3 billion minutes watched. The list continued with familiar names such as Grey’s Anatomy at third place, Young Sheldon in fourth, and This Is Us rounding off the top five, all boasting impressive viewership numbers.

Reacher, an Amazon Prime Video series, claimed the sixth spot overall and second place in the originals chart, amassing 741 million minutes of streaming during the Jan. 22-28 period. Notably, this period coincided with the first full week of availability for the Season 2 finale.

Seventh place was secured by The Hill, a sports film led by Dennis Quaid, originally debuting in theaters in August. Following its addition to Netflix, the film garnered 736 million minutes of viewership.

The Big Bang Theory experienced a surge on Max, claiming the eighth spot with 690 million minutes watched. The remaining positions were filled by American Nightmare (ninth place with 676 million minutes) and Fool Me Once (tenth place with 669 million minutes), rounding out a week of diverse and captivating streaming content.
