Hugh Jackman wished Deadpool 3 co-star Ryan Reynolds with cheeky Wolverine reference

Hugh Jackman sent a playful Wolverine allusion wish to Ryan Reynolds, his Deadpool 3 co-star.

The X-Men actor’s tweet, which was published on his own Twitter account, shows Jackman putting a candle on a cupcake while singing “Happy Birthday” in front of two framed portraits of Reynolds. The actor turns to the camera and says Wolverine’s catchphrase before failing to put out the flame:

“I’m the best there is at what I do isn’t very nice.” The line is seemingly intended to be a gift for Reynolds following the announcement that Jackman is reprising his role as Logan in Deadpool 3.

Reynolds shocked many fans by confirming Jackman’s presence as Wolverine in the third live-action Wolverine movie after having previously stated that 2017’s Logan would be his final appearance as the eponymous mutant. The duo released a second video that attempted to promise tale elements but was overpowered by Wham’s “Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go,” so details on how the character will be featured have not yet been confirmed.

Wade Wilson will make his Marvel Cinematic Universe debut in Deadpool 3, which has many fans worried that the titular antihero will only be able to act in accordance with PG-13 standards. Despite the fact that almost every other MCU film falls under that specific rating, Kevin Feige, president of Marvel Studios, has guaranteed viewers that the third Deadpool movie will keep its R-rating.
