Apple Drops Trailer for Matthew Vaughn’s Spy Flick ‘Argylle’

On Thursday morning, the highly anticipated first trailer for the Apple spy drama, Argylle, directed by Matthew Vaughn was released. It gave us a glimpse into the thrilling world of espionage.

While the trailer showcases Vaughn’s signature slick action sequences, it also draws attention to Henry Cavill’s interesting choice of haircut. As the trailer unravels, we are introduced to the plot of Argylle.

The story revolves around the fictional super spy Argylle, played by Henry Cavill, who is the creation of introverted writer Elly Conway, portrayed by Bryce Dallas Howard. Elly’s life takes an unexpected turn when her new book, which seems to mirror reality a little too closely, attracts the attention of real-life spies who begin to track her down. And of course, Elly’s trusty feline companion also becomes part of the adventure.

Argylle is produced by Cloudy Productions, alongside Vaughn’s regular collaborators Adam Bohling and David Reid. The screenplay for the film is penned by Jason Fuchs. The movie boasts an impressive ensemble cast, including Sam Rockwell, Bryan Cranston, Catherine O’Hara, John Cena, Dua Lipa, Ariana DeBose, Samuel L. Jackson, and, notably, Dua Lipa appearing in her second feature film after her debut in Barbie alongside Cena.

Fans of Vaughn’s work will find Argylle to be familiar territory, as it falls within the spy genre, much like his previous Kingsman trilogy. And as with his previous films, Vaughn’s irreverent sense of humor is sure to shine through.

Argylle is set to hit theaters on February 2, 2024, with a later release on Apple TV. Executive producers for the film include Zygi Kamasa, Carlos Peres, Claudia Vaughn, and Adam Fishbach, with Adam Bohling and David Reid serving as regular collaborators.
