‘Wakanda Forever’ fails to top the list at Korean box office

In South Korea, the historical thriller “The Night Owl” outperformed “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” at the box office.

The Korean film The Night Owl tops the list and earned $4.85 million on the weekend. The 15-rated film, which was produced by C-JeS Entertainment, made $6.14 million in the five days following it was premiered on Wednesday.

The Wakanda Forever tops the list for two weeks on the Korean chart but after the release of the Korean film it dropped to third place after suffering a 61% decline in its third weekend.”Wakanda” has earned $15.8 million in 19 days in Korean theatres, placing it as the year’s 12th highest-grossing movie and the sixth-best Hollywood release overall.

The overall box office for the entire country increased slightly from the previous weekend’s $7.99 million total to $8.66 million. Although it was the best weekend since the middle of September, the year-to-date total for the country is still far below pre-COVID levels.
