Shanghai Film Festival Announces Dates for 30th anniversary Celebration

The Shanghai International Film Festival is ready to return with an in-person event that will be its 25th edition and its 30th anniversary.

The fans and critics were highly disappointed from the cancellation of the festival last year. The festival did not happen due to the severe Covid-19 restriction in the city. The 2023 will be different from the last year as the Festival is returning with an in-person event.

The Shanghai film festival is planned on 9-18, June 2023, organizers confirmed to Variety on Tuesday. They mentioned it would, “open a two-way journey between Chinese films and world films.”

The competition will revolve around five categories: Main feature film competition, Asian newcomers, documentaries, animation and short films.
