Roku has just dropped an enticing teaser trailer for ‘The Spiderwick Chronicles,’ giving viewers a glimpse into the fantastical world that awaits when the series premieres in April.
The trailer, featuring Christian Slater as Mulgarath, sets an intriguing tone, hinting at the mysteries that unfold within the town of Spiderwick.
In a captivating voiceover, Slater’s Mulgarath declares, “This town is full of stories. Some are darker than others. What kind of creatures are lurking inside Spiderwick?” The teaser introduces the central plot as Helen and her children—15-year-old twins Jared and Simon and their sister Mallory—relocate to Spiderwick, their ancestral home.
As Jared stumbles upon a boggart, he unravels the existence of magical creatures, with Mulgarath, the ominous Ogre, posing a deadly threat.
The series follows Jared’s quest to protect the pages of his great-aunt Lucinda’s father’s field guide to magical creatures from Mulgarath’s sinister intentions. Joy Bryant, Noah Cottrell, Lyon Daniels, Mychala Lee, and Jack Dylan Grazer round out the stellar cast.
Roku secured the exclusive U.S. rights to ‘The Spiderwick Chronicles‘ after Disney+ opted out, bringing to life the beloved children’s fantasy books by Tony DiTerlizzi and Holly Black. With all eight episodes set to premiere on The Roku Channel on April 19, the series promises a magical adventure filled with captivating storytelling and a stellar ensemble.
