Jaafar Jackson, Michael Jackson’s 26-year-old nephew, will portray the late singer in the Lionsgate MJ Biopic directed by Antoine Fuqua. Fuqua recently confirmed something on Instagram.
The musician is descended from Jermaine Jackson, a member of The Jackson 5 and Michael’s brother. Jaafar has performed original songs as well as songs by Sam Cooke, Marvin Gaye, and other artists since he was 12 years old.
“I’m humbled and honored to bring my Uncle Michael’s story to life. To all the fans all over the world, I’ll see you soon.” He says
MJ Biopic is being produced by Graham King, who made the critically acclaimed Bohemian Rhapsody out of the Freddie Mercury and Queen tale. The co-executors of Michael Jackson’s estate, John Branca and John McClain, will work with GK Films on the production.
Michael Jackson’s complexity as a person and performer will be examined in MJ Biopic, along with the terrible paedophilia allegations.
Famously, Joe Jackson, Michael’s late father, reportedly verbally and physically abused Michael. As he raised the family from Gary, Indiana, to become a household name. Jackson’s biopic will have scenes about the pop artist missing out on childhood, getting famous, and how his early life affected him as an adult.
