Marc Summers Walks Out of ‘Quiet On Set’ Interview Over Alleged Ambush

Marc Summers, renowned as the host of Nickelodeon’s Double Dare, recently revealed a disconcerting experience during an interview for ID’s docuseries, Quiet On Set: The Dark Side Of Children’s TV.

Speaking on the Elvis Duran and the Morning Show, Summers disclosed that he had agreed to discuss Nickelodeon but was blindsided by the docuseries’ true agenda: uncovering alleged toxic practices within the network during the late 1990s and 2000s.

Summers recounted feeling ambushed when he discovered the documentary’s focus on producer Dan Schneider’s conduct and the allegations of sexual abuse involving Drake Bell and Brian Peck. Expressing his dismay, Summers promptly walked out of the interview, only to later learn that his positive remarks about Nickelodeon were selectively included in the series.

Despite never meeting Schneider and having his show, Double Dare, conclude before Schneider’s tenure, Summers found himself unwittingly implicated in the controversy. He emphasized his lack of involvement with the individuals mentioned in the documentary and questioned the ethics of the production team’s approach.

The incident raises ethical concerns about transparency and journalistic integrity, prompting speculation about the motives behind Summers’ inclusion in the series. With the controversy unfolding, fans await a response from the producers of Quiet On Set.

As the fifth episode of Quiet On Set airs, featuring former Nickelodeon child stars like Drake Bell, Summers’ full interview will be available on the Elvis Duran and the Morning Show’s YouTube channel, shedding light on the events surrounding his contentious encounter with the docuseries.
