According to Variety, drawing inspiration from David Cronenberg’s 2005 film A History of Violence, Leo hit theaters on October 19. This action-thriller narrates the story of a mild-mannered cafe owner, portrayed by Vijay, who is compelled to confront his violent past.

The stellar cast also includes Sanjay Dutt and Arjun Sarja. In the United States, Leo was distributed and raked in $2.1 million over the weekend. In the UK and Ireland, Ahimsa Entertainment handled the release and amassed an impressive £1.07 million ($1.3 million) in just three days.

Lokesh Kanagaraj’s Vikram, featuring Kamal Haasan, proved to be one of the highest-grossing Indian films of 2022, amassing $60 million in revenues. As for his upcoming project, it’s eagerly anticipated as it marks the 171st film starring South Indian movie Kala star Rajinikanth, although the title remains a closely guarded secret. With Leo: Bloody Sweet, Kanagaraj and Vijay have once again demonstrated their cinematic prowess and cemented their place in the annals of Tamil cinema’s finest.
