Eyes of Wakanda: A Dive into the MCU Multiverse

Marvel Studios’ executive Brad Winderbaum sheds light on the positioning of the upcoming animated series, Eyes of Wakanda, within the vast Marvel Cinematic Universe Multiverse.

In a recent interview with Men’s Health, Winderbaum, also Marvel’s Head of Streaming, Television, and Animation, clarified that Eyes of Wakanda will intricately weave into the established continuity of the MCU timeline, diverging from the alternate realities explored in shows like What If…? and X-Men ’97.

Emphasizing the series’ integration into the MCU timeline, Winderbaum expressed excitement about exploring Wakandan history and mythology. He highlighted the involvement of Black Panther director Ryan Coogler as a producer and praised the stunning visuals and immersive storytelling that viewers can anticipate.

While specifics about Eyes of Wakanda remain scarce, Marvel’s brief logline teases a narrative centered on courageous warriors undertaking perilous missions to retrieve vibranium artifacts, promising an intriguing exploration of Wakandan lore.

Winderbaum’s earlier remarks hinted at surprises in store for fans, indicating that Eyes of Wakanda will defy expectations. The series, spearheaded by storyboard artist Todd Harris, received the green light from Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige, underscoring its significance as the first animated series firmly rooted in the sacred MCU timeline.

Amid anticipation for Eyes of Wakanda, Marvel Animation’s lineup also includes the recently premiered X-Men ’97, a nostalgic revival of the beloved 1990s X-Men animated series. Winderbaum teased future projects like What If…?
