CBS has officially given the green light for a second season of the hit series “Elsbeth” for the 2024-2025 season.
In Deadline’s Renewal Status Report, Co-Editor-in-Chief Nellie Andreeva predicted the renewal of “Elsbeth” for a second season, leaving fans eagerly awaiting the return of the show. Other CBS series like “The Equalizer,” “NCIS: Hawai’i,” “So Help Me Todd,” and “CSI: Vegas” are still awaiting renewal or cancellation news.
“Elsbeth” has captivated audiences with its unique blend of humor and intriguing storytelling, led by the unforgettable character Elsbeth Tascioni, portrayed by Carrie Preston. CBS Entertainment President Amy Reisenbach praised the show’s creators, Robert and Michelle King, along with showrunner Jonathan Tolins, for crafting an entertaining and engrossing world set in New York City.
The series follows Elsbeth Tascioni, a sharp-witted attorney who partners with the NYPD to solve complex cases after a successful career in Chicago. Preston leads a talented cast, including Wendell Pierce as Captain Wagner and Carra Patterson as Kaya Blanke, with recurring appearances by Gloria Reuben as Wagner’s wife, Claudia Payne.
