Best Action Series on Amazon Prime in 2022

Amazon Prime has been streaming some unique, mind-boggling action series a lot lately. The original films and TV shows produced by the online store-turned-streamer initially tended to lean heavily toward the drama genre.

However, over time, Amazon Prime has produced a sizable amount of memorable content in other genres, such as action. Although the streamer has produced some stunning dramatic works, horrifying horror slices, and bingeable comedic projects, action-oriented titles are quickly emerging as the most popular.

Now if you are worried where to start with fun that involves all the bone-crunching scenes, below are the 10 best action series available on Amazon Prime shortlisted especially for you! Have a great time binging!

Jolt (2021)

In action movies like Jolt, the humor is almost as frequent as the bone-crunching fight scenes. A former bouncer named Lindy Lewis, played by Kate Beckinsale is the focus of the story. She must pursue the truth on her own after her date with Justin (Jai Courtney) results in his death because the police’s response is conflicted.

The third act of the movie features some shocking twists, and it’s an interesting look at a character who has a sporadic explosive disorder, but Beckinsale’s electrifying lead performance is the movie’s strongest point.

  • Director: Tanya Wexler
  • IMBD rating: 5.6
  • Cast:  Kate Beckinsale, Jai Courtney, Stanley Tucci, Bobby Cannavale, Laverne Cox

Without Remorse (2021)

Without Remorse is a Tom Clancy adaptation that mostly eschews the espionage in favor of spewed bullets, even though it’s not quite one of the best Amazon Prime original films overall. The movie follows Michael B. Jordan’s U.S. Navy SEAL John Kelly as he exacts revenge on his wife and accomplices for the hit that was ordered by the Russians.

Without Remorse was surprisingly overlooked given the reputation of the original story and the presence of Jordan in the lead role, but some people preferred it to the more dialog-heavy Jack Ryan.

  • Director: Stefano Sollima
  • IMBD rating: 5.7
  • Cast: Michael B. Jordan · Jodie Turner-Smith · Jamie Bell · Guy Pearce · Lauren London · Jacob Scipio · Todd Lasance · Jack Kesy.

The Tomorrow War (2021)

Before encountering COVID-19 difficulties, The Tomorrow War was slated for a theatrical release and is probably the largest-scoped film to be released on Amazon’s streaming service. Dan, a schoolteacher, decides to help them win the war with aliens after learning about it from a group of extraterrestrial beings from the future to protect his daughter’s future.

Chris McKay’s film is an action-packed, enjoyable end-of-the-world alien apocalypse war movie in the style of Paul Verhoeven’s Starship Troopers, starring Chris Pratt and an underused Yvonne Strahovski.

  • Director: Chris McKay
  • IMBD rating: 6.6
  • Cast: Chris Pratt

The Tick (2016-2019)

Any project in which Peter Serafinowicz participates benefits from his contributions, and The Tick is no different. Despite receiving positive reviews, the Amazon series, a comedic superhero series based on the same-named 1980s comic, only lasted two seasons.

The tone of the show was well-balanced, the characters were likable, and the actors who played them were even more likable.

  • Director: Linda Mendoza
  • IMBD rating: 7.4
  • Cast: Griffin Newman, Jackie Earle Haley, Peter Serafinowicz

Hanna (2019-2021)

A TV show called Hanna is based on the 2011 Joe Wright movie of the same name. The three-season television adaptation of the movie was a success for the streamer, helped at least in part by a stellar cast that included Dermot Mulroney, Joel Kinnaman, Ray Liotta, and Mireille Enos.

But Esmé Creed-Miles’ portrayal of the part formerly played by Saoirse Ronan captivated critics, and original film fans, and sustained the series across its run.

  • Director: David Farr
  • IMBD rating: 7.6
  • Cast : Dermot Mulroney, Joel Kinnaman, Ray Liotta, and Mireille Enos.

Alex Rider (2020)

After a disastrous 2006 attempt to launch the Alex Rider franchise (the motion picture Stormbreaker), Amazon took over with the first season of the eponymous series.

Because of how many sources the scriptwriters have to work with, and because IMDb TV took over for the second season, Amazon’s debut season laid the groundwork for several potential directions the franchise could take. Otto Farrant’s performance in the title role also ensures a successful future for him in the role and also in Hollywood as a whole.

  • Director: Guy Burt
  • IMBD rating: 7.6
  • Cast : Otto Farrant · Stephen Dillane · Vicky McClure · Andrew Buchan · Brenock O’Connor · Ronkẹ Adékoluẹjo · Liam Garrigan · Ace Bhatti

Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan (2018)

Jack Ryan, one of the most frequently suggested Amazon Prime original series on Reddit, is so well-liked that a fourth season has already been ordered before the third season even begins. The show offers an intriguing fresh take on a role that actors Alec Baldwin, Harrison Ford, Ben Affleck, and Chris Pine have played on television and in movies.

The audience first meets Krasinski as he is recovering from severe wounds sustained during his time as a Marine, placing him between Pine and Ford in terms of experience. Ryan, however, spends the vast majority of the series in the field, where he is a little more unpredictable compared to any other variation.

  • Director: Daniel Sackheim
  • IMBD rating: 8.1
  • Cast: Alec Baldwin, Harrison Ford, Ben Affleck, and Chris Pine.

Reacher (2022)

Reacher’s first season closely follows Lee Child’s first Jack Reacher book, Killing Floor, which serves as its inspiration. The tall, imposing U.S. Army M.P. played by Alan Ritchson has exactly the physicality that director Lee Child had envisioned.

The source of the data for the show’s creators to mine is abundant now that it has been renewed. While One Shot and Killing Floor are probably the two best Reacher novels, there is still enough gold for the series to mine, and with Ritchson playing the lead, every season will be a success.

  • Director: Alan Ritchson
  • IMBD rating: 8.2
  • Cast: Alan Ritchson · Malcolm Goodwin · Willa Fitzgerald · Hugh Thompson · Chris Webster.

Bosch (2014-2021)

Bosch, which was essentially the flagship series of Amazon Prime Video, originally aired for an outstanding seven seasons before being finished in 2021. However, Bosch: Legacy, which is accessible to stream on Amazon’s Freevee commercial service, quickly picked up the show back up.

Titus Welliver plays Harry Bosch, the head of the Los Angeles Police Department, in this Michael Connelly book series adaptation, and he does just as well as Ritchson did as Jack Reacher.

  • Director: Jim McKay
  • IMBD rating: 8.5
  • Cast: Titus Welliver · Jamie Hector · Amy Aquino · Lance Reddick · Madison Lintz · Troy Evans · DaJuan Johnson · Gregory Scott Cummins.

The Boys (2019)

The MCU is the only other superhero franchise with more popularity than Amazon’s The Boys, which stands out in a sea of superhero projects. This film adaptation of the graphic novel series by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson is often very funny, well-made, and shocking at times.

The same Captain America and Iron Man, Hughie Campbell, Starlight, Billy Butcher, and especially Homelander are now well-known figures. The Boys’ season 3 is one of the most anticipated streaming incidents of 2022 because the second season was even better than the first.

  • Director: Eric Kripke
  • IMBD rating: 8.7
  • Cast: Karl Urban, Jack Quaid, Antony Starr, Erin Moriarty, Dominique McElligott, Jessie T. Usher, Chace Crawford
