The Fantastic Four’s Multiverse Placement in the MCU Unveiled

Insider Daniel Richtman sheds light on the location and timeline of Marvel Studios’ upcoming film, The Fantastic Four, within the vast MCU Multiverse.

Unlike typical Marvel Cinematic Universe narratives, The Fantastic Four is purportedly set in an alternate reality rather than the established timeline.

According to insights from trusted insider Daniel Richtman, shared on his Patreon account (via X), the reboot of The Fantastic Four will unfold in an alternate universe distinct from Earth-616. If accurate, this departure marks the movie as the second MCU installment situated in an alternate dimension, following Deadpool & Wolverine, anticipated to be set in 20th Century Studios’ X-Men Universe.

Richtman further discloses that filming for the eagerly awaited movie is scheduled to commence in London, England, this August. These revelations follow Marvel Studios’ hints of The Fantastic Four being set in the 1960s, evident from the casting announcement artwork.

Fantastic Four

Marvel Studios announced The Fantastic Four in July 2019, with director Matt Shakman, known for his work on WandaVision, attached to helm the reboot in August 2022. Despite initial excitement, progress on the project was relatively slow, with limited updates from Marvel, especially regarding casting.

However, the veil of speculation was lifted on Valentine’s Day 2024, when Marvel Studios officially unveiled Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, and Joseph Quinn as Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic, Sue Storm/Invisible Woman, Ben Grimm/The Thing, and Johnny Storm/Human Torch, respectively.

As anticipation mounts for The Fantastic Four’s debut in the MCU, speculation swirls regarding the potential antagonist. While Doctor Doom remains a fan-favorite contender, rumors suggest Galactus might take center stage as the primary villain, with Antonio Banderas and Javier Bardem being eyed for the role.

Additionally, actor David Krumholtz expresses interest in portraying Mole Man, hinting at the diverse array of adversaries the Fantastic Four may encounter in their cinematic journey.

With excitement building for Marvel’s forthcoming cinematic venture, fans eagerly anticipate further updates on The Fantastic Four’s journey into the expansive MCU Multiverse.
