Joe Early Replaces Michael Paull as the New Head of Disney+

The Walt Disney Co. named Joe Early as the president, Direct to consumer, Disney Entertainment. Michael Paull who was previously in that role leaves the company after six years.

Michael Paull, who had been in charge of Disney’s streaming operations since 2017, parted ways from Disney.

Mr. Early joined Disney+ in January 2019 as head of marketing and operations. In 2022, he was named as the president of Hulu. He will continue to lead the platform until his successor is announced. He has been promoted to a critical role that includes the responsibility of the streaming service of the company’s flagship platforms.

According to Bloomberg, Joe Early will report to Dana Walden and Alan Bergman the co-chairmen of Disney’s entertainment division. He will work closely with the content teams that make content for the two platforms. Also he will focus on increasing the reach of Hulu and Disney+ services.

While praising Joe Early, Bergman and Walden said, “Joe has proven himself to be an extraordinary asset and is uniquely positioned for this role as we guide Disney’s streaming strategy into the future.”
