Jason Kelce Joins ESPN’s ‘Monday Night Countdown’ Pregame Show

Former Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce has secured his first post-NFL gig, landing a spot on ESPN’s Monday Night Countdown pregame show, a source confirmed to Deadline. The news, originally reported by The Athletic, comes after Kelce’s retirement from professional football earlier this year.

Kelce, who spent 13 seasons with the Eagles, announced his retirement in March during an emotional press conference. Reflecting on his career, he expressed his deep connection to the sport, likening it to the allure of a favorite song or book.

Joining the Monday Night Countdown team, Kelce will bring his insights and experiences to the pregame analysis alongside host Scott Van Pelt and a panel including Robert Griffin III, Adam Schefter, Ryan Clark, Marcus Spears, and Michelle Beisner-Buck.

The deal is expected to be officially announced during ESPN/Disney’s upfront presentation to advertisers on May 14. ESPN has not commented on the news yet.

Beyond his role on Monday Night Countdown, Kelce is set to continue hosting the New Heights podcast with his brother, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce.

Additionally, he and his wife Kylie produced a documentary film titled “Kelce” for Prime Video, chronicling his journey leading up to the Super Bowl LVII matchup against Travis. The documentary became Prime Video’s most-watched documentary film in the U.S., showcasing Kelce’s enduring popularity and impact beyond the football field.
