In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Hastings said, “If it works well, we will do more of it. It’s a promotional tactic like film festivals. We are attempting to cut through the noise, not develop a theatrical business.

The movie was played across 600 theatres in North America. On November 23, they did a brief run in theatres, and director Rian Johnson urged people to see it in theatres as he thought it would be good for both the movie and the industry.

Johnson stated, “We want as many people as possible to watch it in cinemas. Then, when it debuts on Netflix, we want it to be a huge success so that it proves to everyone—but especially Netflix—that these two things can coexist. that having a successful run in the theatre will only increase its reputation and word-of-mouth before it is released to the public. Many people, not just those at Netflix, are placing bets on that.”

The movie will be streamed on Netflix on December 23.
