Director Shawn Levy, known for his work on Netflix’s Stranger Things, is at the helm of this highly awaited project. Levy recently shared insights into what makes this movie so exciting.
In an interview with Collider, Levy expressed his excitement about bringing two iconic characters, Deadpool and Wolverine, together on screen for the first time. He emphasized that the film would be as much a Wolverine movie as it is a Deadpool one. He promised a “raw, audacious,” and R-rated experience.
Levy stated,
“You have two major movie stars together in a movie playing their most iconic signature roles – that is director heaven. So the story, the tone, the movie itself leans into that gift of having Deadpool and Wolverine co-starring in a movie for the first time. So, we’re definitely not running away from that.”
This collaboration opens the door for humor and commentary from Deadpool, who is known for breaking the fourth wall and addressing the audience directly.
Additionally, the R-rating ensures that Wolverine’s violent side, as seen in the comics, will be unleashed in the Deadpool franchise. Fans can expect an action-packed and unfiltered portrayal of these beloved characters.
