Mean Girls (2004)

If you haven’t seen “Mean Girls” yet, you are missing out! This Rom-Com is a classic that you could never go wrong with. The actors in this movie acted top-notch and we can never forget them. Lindsay Lohan as Cady Heron, Rachel McAdams as Regina George, Jonathan Bennett as Aaron Samuels, Lizzy Caplan as Janice Ian, Amanda Seyfried as Karen Smith, Lacey Chabert as Gretchen Wieners, and Tina Fey as Ms. Norbury is the main highlighted characters of this movie.

In this movie, Cady Heron has joined a new public school, where she befriends Janice Ian and Damian. Through her friends, she understands that there is a group of mean girls called “The Plastics” which includes Regina George as the main girl, Karen Smith and Gretchen Wieners. The entire movie is about Cady being fake friends with “The Plastics” because Regina humiliates her in front of Aaron Samuels and the rest of the school. Aaron Samuels was Cady’s crush as well as Regina’s ex-boyfriend. Cady brings down the popularity of Regina by doing mean things herself. This results in a lot of drama which is finally reconciled on prom night as Cady and Aaron finally end up together.

Mean Girls 2 (2011)

We were introduced to a completely new cast in this movie. Meaghan Martin as Johanna (Jo), Maiara Walsh as Mandi, Jennifer Stone as Abby, Diego Bonetta as Tyler Adams, and Nicole Gale Anderson as Hope Plotkin were the main characters this movie revolved around. The main pretense of this movie was nearly as same as the first one.

The new girl, Jo, joins a new public school where she befriends Abby, an awkward yet quirky girl. Jo is a pretty girl who is quite into boyish activities such as sports and carpentry classes. Abby introduces Jo to all the cliques in school including the main three girls who rule the school, Mandi, Hope, and Chastity. Mandi had an ex-boyfriend Tyler, who Jo falls for. However, Mandi embarrasses her in front of Tyler and the entire school by uploading a video on the screens for everyone to see. Jo ends up doing mean things to the main girl to get back at her. This causes tension between her and Tyler. After a lot of drama Jo and Tyler end up together, and the mean girls disperse and become mellower.

She’s All That (1999)

The cast of this movie is Freddie Prince Jr as Zack Seiler, Rachel Leigh as Laney Bloggs, Paul Walker as Dean Sampson, and Mathew Lillard as Brock Hudson. This chick flick became quite infamous in its day, as its setting was quite different. It included drama, humor, and tears that created an entire cinematic experience on its own.

The main plot of this movie is that a boy called Zack, who recently went through a breakup, makes a deal with his friends that he can turn any girl in the school into the next prom queen. Zack was the best-looking boy in school while Laney was socially awkward and didn’t have the best looks. They spent quite some time with one another. By the time Laney finds out Zack had made a bet with his friends, he had completely fallen in love with her. Laney, who was also in love with him, stops the contact. In the end, at prom, they reconcile and become a couple.

Wild Child (2008)

Drama is the main essence of rom-com. However, “Wild Child” is the epitome of drama. The characters are Poppy (Emma Roberts), Freddie (Alex Pettyfer), Drippy (Juno Temple), and Kate (Kimberly Nixon) who tie the entire movie together.

Poppy is a spoilt, rich teenager who is sent to a boarding school so that she can learn to humble herself. At the start, she does not seem to get along. But slowly, she starts making friends, finds a boyfriend, and understands her passion and what she really wants to do in life.

She’s The Man (2006)

If other chick flicks made your mind boggle, be ready for this movie to make everything insane. This movie is revolved around the characters Viola (Amanda Bynes), Duke (Channing Tatum), Monique (Alexandra Breckenridge), Olivia (Laura Ramsey), etc.

The main character of this movie is Viola. She is not the prim and proper girl her mom wants her to be. When her brother is stuck in a different city, she takes the opportunity of replacing him in university by dressing up and acting as a man. Her roommate turns out to be Duke, who she instantly falls for. After a lot of craziness, her secret is revealed and she and Duke end up together.

13 Going On 30 (2004)

Some romantic comedy movies don’t have only drama, they have silly magic as well. Jenna Rink (Jennifer Garner) is our main character and Matt Flamhaff (Mark Ruffalo) is her best friend since childhood. As a 13-year-old Jenna wanted to fit in with the popular girls, but they always just made her do their homework and always teased her. She still invited them to her birthday party where Matt gifted her a beautiful doll house. After the popular girls made fun of her friendship with Matt, she locked herself up in the storage room and wished she was ‘thirty, flirty, and thriving’.

The rest of the movie is about her automatically being her 30-year-old self with her 13-year-old brain. She is working in a big magazine with one of the mean girls as her best friend. But she doesn’t know how to handle anything. This creates a lot of havoc. She ends up contacting Matt who she had lost touch with all these years apparently.

Jenna also understands the mistakes she did in life and corrects them through her job and friendships. She realizes that she and Matt were meant to be. However, when he ends up marrying someone else she is back in the storage room as a 13-year-old. She fixes her life accordingly and after many years ends up marrying Matt.
