Every time we see a handsome muscular guy wearing grey or camouflage shirt, our mind instantly goes to Rambo. The tall handsome king of action who is also a one man army. He leaves us stunned with each move – so precise, so calculated and with such grace. But who is Rambo?

An American media franchise by the name of Rambo is built on several action movies starring the titular hero. First Blood (1982), Rambo: First Blood Part II (1985), Rambo III (1988), Rambo (2008), and Rambo: Last Blood are the five movies that have been released thus far in the series (2019). The movies Centre on John Rambo, a United States Army Special Forces veteran played by Sylvester Stallone, who has fought against corrupt police officers, enemy soldiers, and drug cartels while using the superior military skills that he acquired while serving in the Vietnam War. First Blood, the first movie in the series, is a remake of David Morrell’s 1972 book of the same name.

Rambo: First Blood Part II, the most popular movie in the franchise, has made $300 million, bringing the series’ overall box office to $819 million. All five movies’ screenplays were co-written by Stallone, who also directed Rambo. The Rambo: The Force of Freedom animated television series, comic books, novels, video games, and a Bollywood version are all products of the franchise in addition to the movies.

First Blood (1982)

It is the first Rambo movie in which John Rambo is detained and then let go from the police station after causing damage to public property. The purple soldiers then try to force him out of their zone, which leads him to difficulty in a little city. He ends up murdering the majority of them in fierce combat where he also utilizes a police station as cover to shoot at his opponents from within it after being observed by them for miles on his way home.

Rambo: First Blood Part II (1985)

At the beginning of this film, John Rambo is living somewhere in Thailand and is being cared for by a local girl. He keeps himself entertained by sprinting on the docks and fighting in hidden boxing matches. Regrettably, Colonel Trautman, Rambo’s teacher, arrives and interrupts everything by asking him to complete one last task: return to Vietnam with mercenary forces to free several POWs. Rambo III (1988)

John Rambo is dispatched to Afghanistan to track down a soldier who hasn’t moved in years. He is moving alongside a group of Christian missionaries who are working to spread the gospel in Afghanistan after Soviet forces had invaded and conquered the country. Rambo defeats hordes of foes single-handedly and most effectively with a bow and arrow at the end of this film. He eventually succeeds in escaping from them with the aid of a chopper that is looking for him. Rambo (2008)

The retired John Rambo has to get moving in this Rambo 4 movie as he seeks assistance from an old army pal in Thailand. He informs Rambo that a brutal warlord seeking to take control of their village is concentrating his attention on the surrounding missionaries. Rambo accepts and travels there, where he must first fend off swarms of foes using only his bow and arrow before being caught up in a fierce battle against the warlords’ tanks, helicopters, and a variety of deadly weapons. Rambo: Last Blood (2019)

In this movie, Rambo: Last Blood, retired John Rambo is forced to take part in a bloody conflict against a group of Mexican drug lords by the daughter of a man he killed while serving as a mercenary. He must first fend them off with a variety of weaponry before killing them with hand-to-hand combat. Later, when he returned home, it is discovered that he is being sought due to his past as a soldier.

Rambo is a childhood favorite that many of us hold close to our hearts. This family friendly movie use to be a holiday special where everyone would finish dinner early and one of the kids will be sent to the nearest store to grab a family size bottle of soda while popcorn pop in the kitchen. Everyone would gather around in the lounge in front of the television waiting for the adults to join them and start the movie. The girls would gush over Sylvester’s body and the boys would be too busy taking in every move to speak. But as soon as the movie comes to an end, the boys will gather to discuss the latest weapons and possible ways to build bodies similar to Stallone’s. With so much memories attached to this series, it is difficult to not get lost in nostalgia. We only hope that you enjoy it as much as we did and it can find a special place in your hearts, too.
