Netflix has reportedly invested Million of Dollars to bolster Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Hollywood endeavors. Sources reveal that the Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle, intends to exercise her influence in the entertainment industry by producing content, though not in the capacity of directing or acting.
In collaboration with her husband, Prince Harry, Meghan Markle is set to produce the adaptation of Carley Fortune’s novel “Meet Me at the Lake” for Netflix, within the framework of their lucrative deal with the streaming giant. Contrary to previous reports, the couple did not acquire the rights to the book but had it purchased for them by Netflix to be produced under their Archewell Productions banner.
The novel aligns with the couple’s experiences, echoing themes from their own lives, including mental health challenges and personal losses. An anonymous insider noted, “They love love stories and rom-coms,” reminiscent of their desire to share their own romantic journey in their 2022 Netflix documentary, “Harry & Meghan.”
The couple’s association with Netflix has fueled interest and speculation. Recent departures of top Archewell Productions personnel have raised questions about their Netflix partnership.
However, sources suggest that their production plans are intact, especially with Meghan Markle having joined talent agency WME and assembling the right team to execute their vision. An anonymous Hollywood insider emphasized the significance of financial success in the industry, asserting, “If you make money in Hollywood, you’re taken seriously.”
As part of their Netflix collaboration, Prince Harry will embark on a solo documentary journey to Africa, while the couple’s joint efforts will be showcased in the upcoming Netflix documentary “Heart of Invictus,” revolving around Harry’s charitable sporting event for wounded veterans.
