HBO Greenlights ‘The Chair Company’ Comedy Pilot: Tim Robinson & Zach Kanin to Star

HBO is diving into the comedy realm once again with “The Chair Company,” a new half-hour comedy pilot featuring Tim Robinson. This project, co-created by Robinson and Zach Kanin, boasts executive production from Adam McKay and Todd Schulman of Hyperobject Industries.

Deadline reports that “The Chair Company” follows the story of a man, portrayed by Robinson himself, who embarks on an investigation into a sprawling conspiracy following an embarrassing incident at work.

With iconic comedy series like “Barry” and “Curb Your Enthusiasm” concluding recently, HBO is doubling down on its commitment to comedy by backing creators-performers for its upcoming projects.

This latest venture adds to the long-standing collaboration between Robinson and Kanin, who first crossed paths while working as writers on “Saturday Night Live.” Together, they co-created two successful series: “Detroiters” for Comedy Central and “I Think You Should Leave with Tim Robinson” for Netflix.

The latter, which recently premiered its third season in May, continues to thrive on Netflix, with potential for new installments and even a comedy tour, “I Think You Should Leave Live: Tim Robinson & Zach Kanin.”

Their work has garnered critical acclaim, earning WGA Awards and an Emmy Award for Outstanding Short Form Comedy, Drama, or Variety Series. Robinson himself clinched two Emmys for Outstanding Actor in a Short Form Comedy or Drama Series.

Robinson, represented by CAA and Odenkirk Provissiero Entertainment, along with Kanin, represented by Hansen, Jacobson, Teller, are set to bring their comedic genius to HBO’s latest venture, promising audiences a fresh dose of laughter and entertainment.
