LOTR star Ema Horvath joins the Lionsgate Remake of “The Strangers”

The Strangers, a remake of the 2008 horror film from Lionsgate, is now shooting in Slovakia and will include Madelaine Petsch, Froy Gutierrez, and Gabriel Basso in addition to Ema Horvath (The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power).

Bryan Bertino’s original movie, which starred Liv Tyler and Scott Speedman as a couple coping with a horrifying house invasion, was written and directed by Bertino. It was a sleeper smash when it was released by Universal Pictures in May 2008 and became admired as a cult classic in the years that followed. The sequel, The Strangers: Prey at Night, was released in March 2018.

The remake, which is being directed by Renny Harlin (Cliffhanger), will follow Petsch’s character as she travels cross country with her longtime partner (Gutierrez) in order to start a new life in the Pacific Northwest. They are compelled to spend the night in a remote Airbnb after their car breaks down in Oregon, where they are tortured by three masked intruders from twilight till daylight. With two sequels, Lionsgate intends to take the plot in fresh and unexpected directions.

The actress Ema Horvath has the drama Who Are You People, in which she co-stars with Devon Sawa and Alyssa Milano, coming up as well. Horvath is repped by Buchwald and Silver Lining Entertainment.
