Watch the 6 Best war shows on Peacock

War has been a part of society as long as society itself. However, the look of war has evolved with time. Now, we can expect to see war around us in many sophisticated forms like economic war, technological war, media war, and foreign exchange war. This is not the extent of evolution. In current times, global institutions, founded to maintain peace and harmony in the world, are used by powerful countries to declare war on other weaker countries. Some examples of these institutions are IMF, United Nations, and World Bank.

If you like to see this evolution and this game of power yourself then we have assembled a list of military and war shows for you and they all can be found on Peacock.

  3. Battlestar Galactia (2015)

During his assignment, Michael Long, an undercover cop, sustains serious injuries. He is nursed back to health by an unknown donor—the chairman and CEO of Knight Industries—and wakes up as a new man with a new name and face: Christopher KnightMichael receives support and equipment from an enigmatic donor disguised as his associate Devon Miles so that he can carry on his crime-fighting against those who disregard the law. The most notable piece of equipment provided is the KITT, an AI-equipped, indestructible high-performance vehicle.

2. Airwolf  (1984)

From 1984 to 1987, the television series Airwolf aired in the United States. The show follows the crew of Airwolf, a high-tech military helicopter, on various missions, many of which have a Cold War theme and involve espionage. The show was created by Donald P. Bellisario. The first three seasons feature Jan-Michael Vincent, Ernest Borgnine, Alex Cord, and Jean Bruce Scott. The fourth season with a new cast and a significantly smaller budget was recorded in Canada for the USA Network following the cancellation of the first series.

Airwolf is the most sophisticated helicopter imaginable (flies halfway around the world, and outruns jet planes). Stringfellow Hawke is its pilot, essentially blackmailing a secret US agency into finding his brother (lost in Vietnam) while he flies dangerous assignments for “The Firm.”

3. Battlestar Galactica (2005)

This military sci-fi series, which debuted in 2002, was a remake of 1978’s original about humans living in a faraway solar system who are at war with the Cylons, an artificial species that they, ironically, created. Due to civilian spacecraft, only 50,000 of the billions of people on Earth survive a devastating attack, forcing them to attempt to flee to a colony there. Peacock is planning a revival of the show, which will be directed by Mr. Robot’s Sam Esmail and would reflect the current atmosphere. It debuted in 2004 for four seasons.

4. Library Wars (2008)

Kasahara Iku joins the Library Force to defend the freedom of literature in a world where information is heavily censored and to follow in the footsteps of a man who once saved her favorite book from destruction. Like her prince, Iku Kasahara wants to support justice.  The current Media Betterment Act gives the Japanese government the authority to impose stringent restrictions on the dissemination of ideas, particularly those that are expressed through books. When her favorite childhood book was scheduled for censorship, Iku personally experienced persecution.

However, a member of the Kanto Library Defense Force—her prince—was able to save both Iku and the book! Inspired by his example, Iku joined the Kanto library to defend freedom of speech while looking for the man she admires. On Tubi, PlutoTV, Peacock, and two additional services, one or more episodes of Akira Ishida and Tatsuhisa Suzuki’s Library War are available for free. It is a 13-episode animated action/adventure show with one season. Library War has ended airing, and there are no plans for new episodes or seasons.

5. MacGruber (2021)

If they go into this episode with the right expectations, fans of the character who appears frequently on Saturday Night Live can enjoy it. Will Forte portrays the protagonist, who invents absurd strategies for escaping life-or-death situations by crafting armor and equipment that can be used.

However, in contrast to the actual MacGyver, MacGruber’s operations frequently fail. The character was the inspiration for a film that failed in 2010, but the series promises a new story and a new supporting cast, including Billy Zane, Sam Elliott, Laurence Fishburne, and Kristen Wiig, who will reprise their roles from the movie.

  • Release Date: December 16, 2021

6. Dr. Death (2021)

Dr. Death has a stellar cast that includes Joshua Jackson, Alec Baldwin, Christian Slater, Grace Gummer, and AnnaSophia Robb. The fact that the crime drama is based on the well-known Wondery podcast of the same name suggests that fans of true crime will enjoy it. Based on the case of Dr. Christopher Duntsch, who was suspected of harming hundreds of patients and murdering two before his medical license was revoked (and he was later convicted), this is a fascinating story about a dishonest doctor who makes his own rules and gets away with it. Until he meets a young, determined deputy district attorney who is on par with him.
