We’ve compiled a list of the best spy movies on Netflix in order to prevent that from happening to you. There are many true masterpieces in the genre if you want to watch a solid old-fashioned spy movie. And trust us when we say there’s going to be something for everyone, so let’s get started without further ado.
1. The Lives of Others (2006)
We must start with this gem when making our list. If you haven’t seen it yet, get ready to be astounded. However, you should be aware that this film isn’t about setting stuff on fire or utilizing fancy technology that doesn’t actually exist. It is about life in East Germany at that time and how things were there. The plot of this film by Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck centers on a Stazi agent sent on an assignment to spy on a writer and his potential love interest. The film depicts the bizarre circumstances that each East German person had to live through at the time. Watch this movie if you are looking for something fascinating, magnificent, and unusual.

2. The Hunt for Red October (1990)
The captain of the “Red October,” the newest nuclear submarine of the Soviet Union, Captain Marko Ramius (Sir Sean Connery), is the subject of this film. 3. The Tourist (2010)
You’ll adore this one if you enjoy Angelina Jolie’s films. In her role as a spy, she chooses to employ a tourist played by Johnny Depp to further her agenda. But every story has a twist, and this one is particularly fantastic. If Angelina’s character has gotten herself into anything that enormous, even for her, you need to see it to find out. Despite being a drama, the film contains some blatantly funny elements that make you chuckle and leave you craving more.

However, when Hunt’s cover is compromised, the Kremlin is destroyed. This is why the IMF is held accountable and the operation is ruined. 5. Traitor (2008)
If you enjoy spy thrillers, you will be blown away by this one. The portrayals of Guy Pearce and Don Cheadle’s characters are excellent, adding to the drama of the film. The Bishop (Gal Gadot), a rival of Booth’s, however, outsmarts the pair, setting off a worldwide chase with plenty of one-liners at Dwayne Johnson’s side and narrative twists throughout.
