Based on the novel ‘Tony and Susan’ by Austin Wright, this movie is a “story inside a tale,” in which the first section follows Susan, a lady who gets a book manuscript from her ex-husband, a man she divorced 20 years ago, asking for her feedback. The actual novel, “Nocturnal Animals,” which centers around a guy whose family vacation turns violent and fatal, is the second component. It also carries on Susan’s journey, in which she encounters some disturbing realities about herself while remembering her first marriage.
