The much awaited prequel series 1923, starring Taylor Sheridan, will launch on Sunday, December 18, exclusively on Paramount+ in the United States and Canada. The following day, on Monday, December 19, it will make its global debut on Paramount+ in the UK and Australia. Dates for the premieres in the other Paramount+ markets abroad will be revealed later.
A new Dutton generation is introduced in the upcoming Sheridan movie. The limited series will focus on the early 20th century when pandemics, record droughts, the repeal of Prohibition, and the Great Depression all afflicted the mountain west and the Duttons who called it home. Harrison Ford will play Jacob Dutton and Helen Mirren will play Cara Dutton.

Cast also includes Brandon Sklenar, Darren Mann, Michelle Randolph, James Badge Dale, Marley Shelton, Brian Geraghty, Sebastian Roché, Robert Patrick, Aminah Nieves, Julia Schlaepfer and Jerome Flynn.

Executive producers of 1923 include Taylor Sheridan, John Linson, Art Linson, David C. Glasser, Ron Burkle, David Hutkin, Bob Yari, and Ben Richardson. It is produced by MTV Entertainment Studios, 101 Studios, and Bosque Ranch Productions.
The story of the Dutton family began with the November 13 release of Yellowstone, which starred Kevin Costner as John Dutton. The drama at their Montana property, Yellowstone Dutton Ranch, which abuts the Broken Rock Indian Reservation, is the subject of the television show. Additionally included are Gil Birmingham, Kelly Reilly, Wes Bentley, and Cole Hauser.
