Thousand Philadelphians bid goodbye to Jerry Blavat

DJ Jerry Blavat is remembered by thousands of Philadelphians and many attend his burial at Philadelphia’s Cathedral Basilica of Sts. Peter and Paul. Blavat breathed his last on Friday, January 20. He was 82 years old.

“Pots and pans, my man, clap your hands together. With those words, we are one today “Jim Gardner, a former Action News anchor, said from Kimmel’s family letter.

Blavat was referred to as “the Boss with the Hot Sauce” and “the Geator with the Heater.” Through his songs, he bridged generations.

Others in attendance were admirers who had a strong bond with Jerry Blavat.

“Just plain joy, he was. He was just a typical kind of guy when we attended his dances and other events. He would join us for a dance outside “said Levittown resident Sandy Moore.
