Stranger Things fell to third place for the week of August 8 to 14 after nearly three months of being either No. 1 or No. 2 thanks to The Sandman. According to Nielsen, the fantasy drama series won the week with about 1.4 billion viewing minutes.
The Sandman gained over 300 million additional viewing minutes after placing No. 4 the previous week.
Only TV viewing is taken into account in Nielsen’s rankings for HBO Max, Apple TV+, Disney+, Netflix, Hulu, and Prime Video. Results are supplied after a delay of approximately one month.
This week, movies were more suspenseful than television shows, with ‘Uncharted‘ dominating the movie scene. The video game adaptation increased 17% from its prior week, though the comparisons are not identical. The film’s theatrical run, which began in February of last year, brought in more than $400 billion at the box office worldwide. The previous week only included the first three days, whereas the week of August 8 through 14 included the entire week.

Netflix’s ‘Day Shift‘, a thriller starring Jaimie Foxx as a vampire hunter, accumulated 982 million minutes from an audience with a substantial multicultural component. According to Nielsen, 25% of viewing comes from houses of Hispanics and 30% from those of African-Americans.
‘Lightyear’ remained in the top 10, but it dropped 46% from the week before. Early in August, the Toy Story prequel, which had dismal box office performance over the summer, made its Disney+ debut.
