In an exclusive interview ahead of the Season 3 premiere of their Hulu reality series, The D’Amelio Show, the family shared insights into the challenges they faced and the growth they experienced as a family.
The interview was held by PopCulture where Charli and Dixie D’Amelio, alongside their parents Marc and Heidi D’Amelio, discussed the “confusion” and “miscommunications” that emerged during this season.
According to Dixie, viewers can expect to see vulnerable moments captured by the cameras, revealing the family’s authentic dynamics. “You can’t really put on an act all the time to make everything okay,” she explained.
One of the main challenges portrayed in Season 3 stemmed from the family’s unique balance between work and family life. Charli noted that their busy schedules had led to a lack of essential conversations within the family.
“Sometimes you don’t get to be with each other without any cameras as much as you’d like,” she said. This absence of communication caused tensions to rise when they reunited on camera.
When Charli and Dixie Moved Out
Marc D’Amelio expressed how difficult it was for him when Charli and Dixie moved out of the family home and into their own spaces. He shared that his identity had long been centered around being a protective and caring father.
However, he discovered that he was still deeply loved and valued by his children, which he believes will resonate with many dads.
While Season 3 explores how fame and the spotlight can impact a family, it also highlights their ability to overcome challenges. Charli emphasized that they had grown stronger as a family throughout the process.
Heidi D’Amelio stressed that improved communication within the family had been a key factor in their growth. “I think the four of us have gotten really good at communicating and saying what we need and what we want and how we want to be supported,” she said.
Despite the ups and downs, the D’Amelios are ready to share their journey with the world when Season 3 of The D’Amelio Show premieres on Hulu on Wednesday, September 20.
