Actor Kiefer Sutherland, known for his role in the TV series ‘24‘, is all set to play the lead in an upcoming action-thriller film titled ‘The Winter Kills‘, directed by John Stalberg Jr, who directed ‘Crypto’.
The story follows a disgraced cop who is after a serial killer that killed his partner a decade ago and has reemerged to kill again. Ben Floro Carney has written the screenplay, and the movie is produced by a team that includes Patrick Rizzotti, Paul Johansson, David Guglielmo, John Jr, Wyatt Russell, Oliver Hudson, Stalberg Jr, and XYZ Films.
“Kiefer Sutherland is more than just the perfect actor for this film, he’s an absolute legend, and I’m beyond thrilled to match his rare talent with a role that will require every ounce of it. I couldn’t imagine a better team of professionals, including Wyatt Russell and Oliver Hudson — my partners at Slow Burn along with Patrick Rizzotti, David Guglielmo, Paul Johanson and the crack team at XYZ to bring The Winter Kills to life,” said John Stalberg, Jr.
The production of the movie will take place in New Jersey during the upcoming spring season. Blue Fox Financing will provide the debt financing for the project, while XYZ Films will also finance it and showcase it to potential buyers at this week’s European Film Market held in Berlin.
