Sharon Stone said her first Oscar look was ‘Awful’

Sharon Stone recounted the unpleasant experience of dressing herself for her first Oscars in 1992. Speaking to host Bruce Bozzi, the 64-year-old actress explained that when she was invited to the awards ceremony just before the release of Basic Instinct, no one wanted to lend her a dress.

Stone then decided to take matters into her own hands and dress herself for the event, despite the lack of support. However, when the movie was released a few days before the Oscars and she was scheduled to present an award, she still could not secure a dress from anyone.

““When I first got invited to the Oscars right before Basic Instinct, the movie hadn’t come out, so no one would lend me a dress,” she explained. “Then it came out a few days before the Oscars and I was going to present but no one would give me a dress.”

she “didn’t have any money to buy anything” for the awards show at the time, but ultimately purchased a Betsey Johnson polyester jumpsuit because “that was the best I could do.” “I’m doing my own hair and makeup and I was just like, ‘Wow, this is awful. Like, how am I going to do this, right?’” Sharon Stone recalled.

She was not in a financial position to buy anything for the awards show at the time. Consequently, she purchased a Betsey Johnson polyester jumpsuit because she couldn’t afford anything better. She revealed that she did her own hair and makeup for the event and felt that it was an awful experience, wondering how she was going to manage everything.
