‘Shantaram’ will not return after season 1

Shantaram has been canceled by Apple TV+ after season 1.

Shantaram, starring Charlie Hunnam has been canceled by Apple TV+. The show was based on Gregory David Roberts’ novel. The franchise was big and was shot on two continents. Steve Lightfoot was the writer and executive producer of the series. The director and executive producer were Bharat Nalluri. The series’ included some other executive producers as well. Paramount Television Studios and AC Studios of Anonymous Content developed the show for Apple.

The series was impacted by the pandemic and was stopped in late February 2020, till then only two episodes were shot. The last 10 episodes of the series weren’t started again until May 2021.

The series also starred Shubham Saraf, Elektra Kilbey, Fayssal Bazzi, Luke Pasqualino, Alyy Khan, Sujaya Dasgupta, Vincent Perez, David Field, Alexander Siddig, Gabrielle Scharnitzky, Elham Ehsas, Rachel Kamath, Matthew Joseph, and Shiv Palekar.

The series has aired eleven episodes until now and the last episode of the season will air on December 16 which will be the season finale.
