Richard Armitage hints at when fans can expect the next Harlan Coben Netflix series, Missing You. In an exclusive chat with Digital Spy, Armitage speculated that the series might premiere on January 1, 2025.
“I think it will be in the same slot as Fool Me Once next year. I think it will be on January 1. At a guess!” Armitage shared.
Missing You marks Armitage’s fourth collaboration with Coben. The plot centres around a detective who finds her long-missing partner on a dating app. Armitage will play Detective Chief Inspector opposite Rosalind Eleazar, who he previously worked with on Uncle Vanya.
“Rosalind is brilliant,” Armitage said. “She’s absolutely brilliant.”
Eleazar plays Detective Kat Donovan, who discovers her fiancé’s dating app profile more than a decade after his mysterious disappearance. This revelation prompts Kat to confront unresolved issues from her past.
Armitage revealed that Missing You will have a shorter format with only five episodes. “It’s a singular narrative without a complicated subplot,” he explained.
Armitage’s previous Coben adaptations include The Stranger, Stay Close, and Fool Me Once. He expressed his affinity for the thriller genre, citing his love for intrigue and unexpected plot twists.
“It is so my vibe,” Armitage said. “I love characters who reveal hidden aspects of themselves. Technology also plays a big part, as it can trip us up in today’s secretive world.”
