Queen’s Funeral: Prince Philip coffin will be reburied by Her Majesty’s side

The Queen and her beloved husband will lie side by side on the grounds of Windsor Castle. A plan was put in place for the pair to eventually be placed side by side for eternity.

When Philip passed away at the age of 99, his body was first laid to rest in St. George’s Chapel on the grounds of Windsor Castle, where family and invited guests may pay their respects. He requested a low-key funeral, and he refused any suggestions made while he was still living that it should have the characteristics of a state funeral.

Following the service, his remains were transferred to the chapel’s Royal Vault where they remained until the Queen’s passing. The plans will be made for his last leg of the voyage now that the day has arrived.
