In a delightful collaboration, Portland Garment Factory teamed up with Nike to craft customized tracksuits for the beloved cast of Ted Lasso, adding an extra dash of flair to their appearance at PEOPLE’s Post Screen Actors Guild Awards Gala in February.
Founder Britt Howard expressed her excitement, calling it the “best trio ever” with the cast wearing the suits designed by Nike and meticulously crafted by her team at Portland Garment Factory.
The idea stemmed from the cast’s desire to commemorate their final ensemble appearance at a major award show following the conclusion of their third season. With multiple nominations at the February 2024 SAG Awards, including nods for outstanding performance and individual performances by key cast members, the occasion was ripe for celebration.
While details of the project remained shrouded in secrecy, Howard pieced together clues from Nike and AFC Richmond logos, playing it cool until the big reveal. The team’s efforts culminated in 30 matching tracksuits tailored to perfection, allowing each cast member to infuse their unique personality into the ensemble.
Howard described the experience as “top secret,” relishing the moment when the cast donned the suits at the post-SAG Awards party. The project not only fostered a deeper connection to the show but also garnered overwhelming fan excitement, highlighting the joy of bringing creativity to life.
As the tracksuits made their debut, Howard reflected on the immense fandom surrounding “Ted Lasso” and the rewarding feeling of seeing their work celebrated. In a world often fraught with challenges, projects like these serve as a reminder of the joy and excitement they can bring, both to creators and fans alike.
