Paul Rudd, the newest addition to Only Murders in The Building cast, shared his disdain for the “horrible” and “restrictive” diet he endured to shape up for the role in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.
The actor, who will soon be seen in Avengers: The Kang Dynasty, disclosed that during his intense training for the Marvel movie, his reward for adhering to the strict nutrition plan was sparkling water.
Rudd jokingly expressed during Off The Menu podcast,
“That’s how horrible that diet was. I was like, ‘Alright, I can have some sparkling water now, I’ve earned it.'”
Despite his dedication to working out and eating perfectly, Rudd humorously confessed that he always felt he looked worse than his fellow Marvel stars. “I worked out harder than anyone, I would eat better than everyone, and I looked worse than all of them. I had to work out all the time, eat perfectly, just to look kind of bad. Not even great,” he quipped.
In the world of Hollywood transformations, Rudd’s experience echoes the sentiments of other actors like Scarlett Johansson and Robert Pattinson, who have previously shared the challenges of maintaining the expected physique for superhero roles.
As the curtain lifts on the behind-the-scenes struggles of Hollywood’s superhero transformations, Paul Rudd reveals the less glamorous aspects of the movie magic we see on screen.
