Recently, DIRECTV formed a renewed multi-year affiliate agreement with the National Football League (NFL), solidifying their partnership with NFL Media. This agreement extends the coverage of NFL Networks on DIRECTV and introduces DIRECTV STREAM and U-Verse to NFL Network’s distribution. Currently, NFL Network boasts an impressive average of 16.7 million viewers per game.
New Additions and Exciting Features
According to a report by Cord Cutters News, DIRECTV STREAM has announced that NFL Network will officially join their lineup on July 17th. Although the confirmation of the Redzone Channel’s availability is pending, it is expected to be accessible before the start of the NFL season. Subscribing to the Sports Pack will grant access to these channels.
Moreover, even though NFL Network may already appear in your channel lineup, the actual broadcasting will commence on July 17th.
Hans Schroeder, the NFL’s Executive Vice President of Media Distribution, expressed excitement about the renewed partnership between DIRECTV and the NFL, which began over two decades ago. He emphasized that this agreement will enable DIRECTV customers, who are NFL fans, to enjoy NFL Network’s exceptional coverage and expand their access to the immensely popular NFL RedZone.
Rob Thun, DIRECTV’s Chief Content Officer, highlighted that this renewed agreement solidifies their longstanding relationship with the NFL and reinforces their position as a leader in sports content delivery. Customers across all three DIRECTV platforms will now have enhanced access to NFL Network and the thrilling action from Sunday’s games through NFL RedZone.
Additionally, customers who subscribed to the Premier package between April 6th and June 28th, 2023, will receive the Sports Pack for free, including NFL Network. Unfortunately, if you signed up before or after that period, you will need to pay for the Sports Pack separately.
In addition to gaining exclusive access to live preseason and regular season games, DIRECTV customers will enjoy a variety of popular NFL studio shows, including Good Morning Football, NFL GameDay Morning, NFL Total Access, A Football Life, NFL 360, and America’s Game.
