In season 3 of The Mandalorian (StarsWars), there are ongoing shady cloning practices and Din Djarin is purifying himself in the Living Waters of Mandalore. However, this week there was a seismic shift in the Star Wars galaxy with the return of Ahmed Best, who played the controversial character Jar Jar Binks in the prequel trilogy.
Best’s appearance marks a significant moment for the franchise, overshadowing other plotlines such as the whereabouts of Moff Gideon and Bo-Katan’s Mythosaur sighting.
Although Jar Jar was heavily criticized by adult fans and critics upon the release of The Phantom Menace in 1999, a new generation of kids who adored the character has now grown up with fond memories of him.
While there has been speculation on the Dagobah Dispatch podcast about a potential Jar Jar appearance in The Mandalorian, it hasn’t happened yet. However, Ahmed Best, the actor who played Jar Jar, made a significant return to the Star Wars franchise in this week’s episode.
