Matthew Perry ex-fiancée, Molly Hurwitz, is reflecting on her profound relationship with the late actor after his sudden death.
After the heartbreaking news of Perry’s death at the age of 54, Hurwitz, took to Instagram to reflect on their time together. “He would love that the world is talking about how talented he was. And he really was very talented,” she began. “As the Friends reunion was approaching, we rewatched the show together.”
She fondly remembered Perry’s reaction, saying, “‘F—, I was so good!!!’” Hurwitz continued, “‘See what I did there???’ We rewound and studied scenes. Our respect and appreciation of humor is something that connected us. Being with him as he rediscovered his brilliance was magical.” While Perry was undoubtedly a gifted actor, Hurwitz acknowledged that she knew a different side of him.
“While I loved him deeper than I could comprehend, he was complicated, and he caused pain like I’d never known,” she revealed. She also made mention of Al Anon, a support group for those affected by another person’s alcoholism, alluding to Perry’s struggle with substance abuse. Perry, renowned for his portrayal of Chandler Bing on Friends, was discovered deceased in his Los Angeles area home due to an apparent drowning.
According to PEOPLE, his family expressed their profound grief, saying, “We are heartbroken by the tragic loss of our beloved son and brother. Matthew brought so much joy to the world, both as an actor and a friend.”
