David O. Russell’s latest film project is being showcased at the European Film Market for potential buyers. Russell has written the script and will be directing the movie as well, with Charles Roven from Atlas Entertainment and Matthew Budman from Dreamcrew Entertainment serving as producers.
In the film, titled ‘Super Toys’, Keke Palmer and Sacha Baron Cohen, couple who work as toy salespeople and go on a dangerous journey to save their marriage, daughter, and themselves in Middle America during the 1970s.
Both Palmer and Cohen have enjoyed successful recent years in their respective careers. Palmer recently commanded attention after appearing in Jordan Peele’s 2022 film ‘Nope‘. She played Emerald Haywood, who in the movie set out to record video footage of a mystery alien terrorizing their little village with her brother OJ. Cohen’s most recent project, Luca from Pixar, in which he voiced Uncle Ugo, was released in 2021.
Beyond that, there are no other details regarding the plot, casting, or shooting dates for the movie, and it is unknown when it will be released. However, with recent reports that several new Disney sequels are on the horizon, we are now interested in the possibility of a whole different kind of toy story.
