Universal Pictures’ upcoming blockbuster, Jurassic World 4, is gearing up for a spectacular production journey spanning Thailand, Malta, and the U.K. Directed by Gareth Edwards and backed by heavyweights Steven Spielberg, Frank Marshall, and Patrick Crowley, this installment promises a fresh twist on the iconic dinosaur franchise.
Scheduled to star Scarlett Johansson, Jonathan Bailey, Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, Mahershala Ali, Rupert Friend, Luna Blaise, and David Iacono, Jurassic World 4 aims to redefine the Jurassic experience with a narrative that traps three adults and three teens on a mysterious island.
Thailand will host a significant portion of the production from June 13 to July 16, encompassing diverse locales such as Bangkok, Trang, Phang Nga, Phuket, Chiang Mai, and the scenic Huai To Waterfall in Krabi’s Khao Phanom Bencha National Park. This venture is projected to inject THB650 million ($18 million) into Thailand’s economy, leveraging local services and potentially benefiting from the country’s production spending rebate system.
While Thai authorities express enthusiasm for hosting such a high-profile production, Natural Resources and Environment Minister Phatcharavat Wongsuwan has issued a stern reminder about environmental conservation. His statement emphasizes compliance with environmental laws to prevent any adverse impact on Thailand’s natural resources.
The production moves to Malta from July to September, facilitated by Latina Productions and Malta Film Studios, followed by Sky Studios Elstree in the U.K. under Saga Productions. The film’s release is slated for July 2, 2025, with Kennedy/Marshall, Amblin Entertainment, and Universal Pictures at the helm.
