Renowned actor John Malkovich is set to make his mark in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) with his latest role in ‘The Fantastic Four‘, reports Deadline.
Malkovich, whose character remains undisclosed, joins the star-studded cast including Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards (Mr. Fantastic), Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm (the Invisible Woman), Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm (the Human Torch), and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm (the Thing).
Speculation surrounds Paul Walter Hauser’s role, with Julia Garner confirmed to portray Shalla-Bal, a version of Silver Surfer.
Directed by Matt Shakman of ‘WandaVision‘ fame, ‘The Fantastic Four‘ boasts a talented writing team comprising Eric Pearson, Josh Friedman, Jeff Kaplan, Ian Springer, and Peter Cameron. Marvel Studios’ Kevin Feige leads the production, with the film slated for release on July 25, 2025.
With two Oscar nominations under his belt, Malkovich’s recent credits include Apple TV+’s ‘The New Look‘, where he portrayed French fashion designer Lucien Lelong alongside Ben Mendelsohn and Juliette Binoche. His presence has also graced Netflix’s ‘Ripley‘ and ‘Space Force‘, as well as Showtime’s ‘Billions‘, alongside various indie productions.
Malkovich’s upcoming projects include Julian Schnabel’s ‘Hand of Dante‘, A24’s horror venture ‘Opus‘ starring alongside Ayo Edebiri, and the biopic ‘The Yellow Tie‘ portraying renowned Romanian conductor Sergiu Celibidache.
Represented by WME, Malkovich’s addition to ‘The Fantastic Four‘ adds further anticipation to one of Marvel’s most anticipated ventures.
