Indian streaming service JioCinema, owned by Viacom18, has struck a deal with NBCUniversal to bring a range of popular content to its platform.
Ambani’s JioCinema, a rival to Netflix and Disney Plus Hotstar in India, recently signed similar agreements with Warner Bros Discovery for HBO and Warner Bros content. The partnership will make NBCU’s programming available on JioCinema’s new ‘JioCinema Premium’ subscription tier. Featuring content from various NBCUniversal production entities and brands.
Indian viewers can look forward to shows like “Young Rock,” “The Lazarus Project,” and “The Lovers,” along with Peacock Originals like “Bel-Air” and “Pitch Perfect: Bumper In Berlin.” Also, the library will include beloved titles such as “Downton Abbey,” “Suits,” “Parks And Recreation,” and “The Mindy Project.”
Additionally, the platform will offer a variety of movies, including Christopher Nolan’s “Oppenheimer,” “The Super Mario Bros. Movie,” and films from popular franchises like “Fast,” “Minions,” “Jurassic,” and “Bourne.”
JioCinema was launched by Mukesh Ambani’s Reliance Industries in 2016. Then was recently integrated into Viacom18 as part of a strategic partnership supported by James Murdoch and Uday Shankar’s Bodhi Tree Systems.
